This famous trek needs no introduction. During this trek, you will experience natural beauty and have a lifetime experience of beautiful memories. This trek reinforces the state's mythical status as 'heaven on earth'. During the trek, you will be constantly surrounded by meadows. The best time to enjoy the trek is between June and September. During these months, the greenery and blooming flowers are at their peak.

Day-by-day itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Srinagar.
Srinagar is known for its unique aquatic culture. There are numerous lakes and rivers that are all interconnected through canals. This gave rise to a unique city known for its beautiful artistic houseboats. You will be accommodated in one of these houseboats which are found nowhere else. You can also take a boat ride around the lake exploring the floating vegetable gardens and islands on the Dal Lake. Overnight at the houseboat.
Day 2: Drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg (2-3 hours) and trek to Nichnai (3505mt)
After breakfast, we will drive to Sonamarg along the Sindh river. At Shitkadi, we load our bags on horses and start our trek. Our trail a slightly steep passes through the meadows and enters a pine/birch forest at Shokdari before the vast and long Nichnai meadow which is our camping ground for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Trek from Nichnai to Krishansar and Vishansar lake (3658mt)
We start from Nichnai and start ascending one of the three passes of the trek the Nichnai Pass (4000mt). We ascend through beautiful alpine meadows which are full of wild sheep. After crossing the pass, we enter into the Vishansar Valley. This is known as the valley of medicinal plants. We descend gradually through the alpine flower valley and camp at the Vishansar Lake.
Day 4: Trek from Vishansar lake to Gadsar lake (4,206mt)
After exploring the Vishansar Lake, we head towards its sibling the Krishansar Lake. We take its eastern shore to ascend the second and the highest pass of the trek the Gadsar Pass (4200mt). On the top of the pass, we have the aerial view of the whole Vishansar valley among it are situated the twin lakes of Vishansar and Krishansar. These lakes are the source of Neelam river. We descend through Gadsar valley and lakes and camp at Kustoor Kout.
Day 5: Trek from Gadsar lake to Satsar Lake (3600mt)
We leave the Gadsar valley and enter the Rasbal meadow. At Rasbal, a flowing river disappears underground. The long climb of an hour and a half takes you up 1,100 feet. The climb graduates to a traverse beyond the 11,500-foot altitude. You walk on a flat trail on a meadow surrounded by mountains. We then navigate to Maengandob, where there are a few deep craters. We continue trekking through the seven small lakes of Satsar and camp at Megandoab at the foothills of the third pass of Zajibal.
Day 6: Trek from Satsar lakes to Gangbal twin lakes (3505mt)
We ascend the last pass in our trek, Zajibal Pass (4180mt). The views from the top are spectacular and make you forget all the hardship. We can see Mount Haramukh (5300mt) right in front of us and at its footsteps lie the twin beautiful alpine lakes of Gangabal and Nundkol. We descend the pass and reach Gangabal Lake.
Day 7: Rest day at Gangabal
Today you get to relax by the lakes and explore the surrounding meadows. Explore Gangabal - Nandkol twin lakes and Mount Harmukh. A fiery stream flows to the right of the two lakes connecting them. The stream has to be crossed to go from Nandkol to Gangabal. Enjoy the day and have lunch on the banks of the spectacular Gangabal lake.
Day 8: Trek from Gangabal to Naranag and drive to Srinagar
We leave Gangabal - Nundkol lakes and trek through the Trunkhun meadows. We descend to the Naranag village through the pine forest of Bodpathri. Here, our trekking ends. We drive back to Srinagar for an overnight stay at Houseboat.
Day 9: Departure from Srinagar
After breakfast at the houseboat, we will drop you at the airport.
